We feel so honoured to have photographed such a spectacular event of two amazing people at the stunning Bottega Modern Farm Inn in Kelowna, BC this September. When we first met Aaron and Brian last February, they brought all the way from London, England, a selection of dark beers knowing our love of stouts. On our second meeting in June, they surprised us again with more dark beers from England! OK, they seriously wooed us! They are super thoughtful, creative, charismatic individuals and their kindness and exquisite taste translated into a luxurious event surrounded by the people they love.
Although Aaron and Brian reside in London, they are both originally from Canada and travel often to the Okanagan for summer vacations. Wanting to share their favourite place on Earth, they planned their wedding in the beautiful Okanagan and guests from near and far met to celebrate these two. Not only did they host a stunning wedding, they had pre-wedding festivities leading up to the big day including a bicycle tour of the Myra Canyon Kettle Valley Railway Trestles and wine tours, with even a beach BBQ the day after the wedding. They seriously know how to host an event!
Bottega was the perfect venue, with its dramatic architecture nestled in the woods, providing elegance and peacefulness. Being a black-tie event, everyone arrived dressed in their best. But really, Aaron and Brian, stole the show with their designer tuxes: Navy Burberry Prorsum (Aaron) and Black Ermenegildo Zegna “Su Misura” (Brian). Aaron’s Mr. Hare shoes were worthy of a dedicated photoshoot all to themselves! Aaron and Brian are true connoisseurs and every little detail of their wedding was not overlooked. As guests arrived, custom cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served as everyone mingled. Casually, everyone entered the courtyard and gathered for an endearing ceremony in the golden hour before sunset. After the ceremony, a toast was made with a signature shot topped with a exquisite hors d’oeuvre. The incredibly talented Joy Road Catering provided Cuisine du Terroir (‘food of the earth’) focusing on local foods of the Okanagan, paired with Brian’s hand-picked wine selections. Guests gave heartwarming and entertaining speeches, including a few talented musical performances.
The night didn’t stop there! The dance floor opened and with guests donning hilarious party masks (you’ll see below) and lit up hula-hoops, we are sure the party continued well after we left. To refuel their guests, Rolling Stove food truck pulled-up and dished out delicious comfort food. What an incredible day!!! Aaron & Brian, thank you so much for choosing us as your photographers – Congratulations!!!
Brian is a wine connoisseur and after the party they popped this prized baby, a 1993 Dom Ruinart Champagne with their friends.
Guests mailed in their personal works of art made specifically for Aaron & Brian’s wedding and they were displayed as table cards. So creative!
