Oh, where was this gorgeous manor when we were married back in 2007! Fintry Estate was actually built way back in 1910 by James Cameron Dun-Waters, the Laird of Fintry, and his “dear old Missus” showing their passions for Old World stateliness and New World wilderness. Fintry is a beautiful hidden gem in the Okanagan, situated on the western shores of Okanagan Lake halfway between Kelowna and Vernon. It truly feels like a step back in time when you enter the area with its stately historical architecture surrounded by nature.
I was thrilled when Laura from Dandelion Willows Invitations + Stationary contacted me to be the photographer for their styled wedding to launch the estate as a premier wedding venue. A long list of amazing vendors (below) were involved and made every aspect of this shoot a treat to photograph. Please read on through the blog post to find out more about their amazing contributions to this shoot!

We had a dream team of stylists involved making the bride and groom look uber polished. Chelsea from Bliss Bridal picked out the most perfect fairytale gown from Pronovias named ‘Mena’ with heaps of tulle gathered at the waist for a super amazing, full skirt and a gemstone and lace strapless bodice – so dreamy!
Bri Stein created a gorgeous, luminous look for the bride with her talented makeup skills, featuring rosy and gold tones to compliment the muted tones of the décor and florals. For hair, Inspirado Hair Designs created two elegant looks with the ceremony hair boasting luscious curls molded into a side-swept style with a hair flower feature and the reception hair gathered in a soft and romantic updo with the flower as the centerpiece.
The trophy room at Fintry Estate was built in 1924 and features an array of taxidermy including a giraffe that was born at the Penticton Zoo (and died naturally – phew!). The room definitely exudes a men’s smoking room and vintage feel which we thought was perfect for the groom getting ready. Thanks to Grant King Men’s Wear from Penticton for providing the stylish suit and polka dot blue bowtie! We love that this store started in the early 1900’s!
Dandelion Willows Invitations + Stationary created an exquisite collection featuring soft muted tones of gray and blush with gorgeous calligraphy to add an elegant and vintage feeling. Isn’t that pretty lace tissue enclosed (‘for happy tears only’) in the ceremony program such a cute touch? You will see much more of Laura’s gorgeous work as you scroll throughout this post!
Stage Right etc. brought together such a beautiful collection ceremony and reception décor. The location of the ceremony was held at the end of a flagstone walkway, backed by large coniferous trees. The swaths of bright white chiffon created a perfect contrast with the dark green background of the forest and the chandelier added an elegant and whimsical touch to this outdoor ceremony.
OK, how adorable is the flower girl and ring bearer? Jillian Harris’ doggie, Nacho, came out to steal everyone’s hearts and be a little supermodel. The dreamy florals by Classic Creations sent the cuteness barometer over the top!
Taking from the old European feel of the estate and the exterior colours of the grey stone building, the styling centered around bringing those soft, romantic muted tones together to create an elegant and classic look. The florals from Classic Creations Floral Design was absolute perfection with large, luxurious creations filled with white hydrangea clouds, ruffled garden roses, eucalyptus, dusty millar, and trailing amaranthus in a palette of blush, soft pinks, peach, whites, and dusty blues. Shorter floral arrangements were created with a more romantic and intimate asymmetrical design filled with ranunculus, roses, astilbe, lisianthus, and soft greenery.
Port Victoria Catering made the most beautiful spread of canapés for the outdoor veranda cocktail hour including BBQ Pork Mii Taco’s with avocado cream, queso fresco, and cilantro, Smoked Salmon Lox and Buckwheat Blini with herbed crème fraiche and chives, and Individual Shrimp Cocktail with tangy horseradish seafood sauce.
For the reception, we LOVED the long harvest table with rustic bench and vintage settee for seating from Stage Right Etc. The table was adorned so beautifully with a muted floral runner and mixed metallic palate with shades of burnished gold throughout.
Aren’t these cookies the prettiest? Sarah Sweets created these lacy filigree gems that are fit for a princess!
We are big fans of Anna’s creations from Sweet On You – Designer Cups and Cakes and the cake she made was once again truly stunning. The gorgeous three tiered cake definitely emitted a French vibe, with a muted blue silk like finish and intricate ruffled white prettiness accents. So feminine and pretty – we can see Marie Antoinette happily digging in!
Nails by Melissa created these pretty blush pink gems for the bride complete with white netting and crystal embellishments.
Fintry Estate has extensive grounds to photograph within and is surrounded by Okanagan Lake. There is even a waterfall located a short hike up the mountainside surrounding Fintry Estate! We love this old packinghouse (seen below), plus the numerous other historical barns on site.
