When Erin and Jamie contacted us over a year ago regarding their wedding, the main priority for their big day was to have fun, fun, and even more fun. And they totally succeeded! Their wedding which took place at Linden Gardens in Kaleden, was absolutely perfect. I think the part that blew us away was that for half an hour before their outdoor ceremony which had no tent, it rained and rained. Everyone was huddled inside the reception area, socializing and waiting to see what would happen. And then just like that, poof, the rain stopped and the sun came out just in time for their ceremony. Seriously, wow!
We started the day off with First Look photos at the stunning Kaleden Hotel (which was built in 1912) and then headed to Kraze Legz Winery with the wedding party. This was such a smart way to approach the wedding day because it allowed Erin & Jamie to mingle with guests at the cocktail party after the ceremony rather than heading off for photos. After the cocktail party, everyone headed inside for a gourmet family style dinner created by the very talented Joy Road Catering.
The wedding décor included lots of handmade and Etsy goodness. They made lots of things including the ceremony arbor, direction sign posts, and seating chart bench. I think the most elaborate DIY item was the photo-booth which you will see below. Good job you two!!! They also paid homage to their love of skiing throughout the wedding (tables were all different ski mountains). In fact, you can check out their winter engagement session held at Big White Ski Mountain here.
The room was packed with lots of good food & wine, laughter, and funny speeches. After clearing space, everyone did some some serious dancing, especially the bride! And the party didn’t stop there. After everyone cleared out, they all hopped on a chartered bus waiting for them to the Best Damn Sports Bar in Penticton to continue the celebration and fun. Thank you Erin & Jamie for having us be part of your awesome day – congratulations!!!
The Guys decided to climb the building!
A praying mantis landed on Erin! They are pretty rare around here – so we think this is a very good omen!
Before the ring exchange, they had family pass the rings around and hold them, infusing them with good intentions.
We love how family & friends made their favourites for the dessert table – how sweet!
