May and Eric are such a sweet couple and we were instantly charmed via our Skype meeting long ago when they described their upcoming wedding. They had us at pastel colours and bow ties. Also, you’ve got to love a couple who are down with having their engagement shoot at a carnival. May and Eric totally rocked it and you can view their engagement shoot here. Style Me Pretty featured this super fun engagement shoot which you can view here .
Their wedding day was equally fun, starting off with door games. If you are unfamiliar with Chinese door games, you are in for a crazy fun treat! Basically the groom and his entourage (wedding party) arrive at the bride’s location and has to win his bride by performing hilarious and often super gross challenges. The bride is hid away in another room while her bridal party makes sure the groom and his party meets the challenges set. Oh and the groom also has to pay the bridal party to even get through the door. We literally were laughing the entire time we photographed this madness of fun.
Before heading to Summerhill Winery for their vineyard ceremony, May changed into her second gown, an elegant lace number which totally complimented their vintage & pretty décor and florals (by the incredibly talented Christina from Classic Creations). Thank you May & Eric for having us be part of your beautiful day – congratulations!!!
Let the Games begin!!!
OK, Eric has bartered his way in, but now he must carry each of his party through the doorway.
Next challenge – Eric’s party now must make him a wedding dress. Out of toilet paper.
Next on the menu is white chocolate covered insects. Delightful.
And for dessert, fermented shark meat from Iceland and a shot of Brennivin (an herbal infused hard alcohol also from Iceland).
Probably the most outrageous challenge – Eric having to peel bananas held between his groomsmen legs. This was by far the most hilarious ‘test’.
And finally, the last challenge, writing out words with his body for his party to guess.
Yay – he did it and now has been granted his beautiful bride! What a trooper!
