Melissa and Trevor fell in love many moons ago and after lots of adventure and travel they planned their amazing wedding in the Okanagan at The Harvest Golf Club. Melissa has the most beautiful smile and her laughter and joy is contagious. They are such a wonderful, thoughtful, and loving couple and we were so honoured to be their photographers. You can view their travel themed engagement shoot complete with an airplane here.
Melissa and Trevor’s August wedding was so unique, fun, and colourful with the overall décor and ambiance taking inspiration from their love of travel and the storybook: The Owl and the Pussycat. Melissa’s Father used to always read this story to her as a child and it has remained a lifetime favourite. As Melissa and Trevor were planning their wedding, they realized how similar they are to the distinct characters outlined in the storybook (Melissa is exuberant and lively whereas Trevor is quiet and calm) and took inspiration from the tale and colourful illustrations to create their wedding theme. For those of you not familiar with the tale of The Owl and the Pussycat (written by Edward Lear all the way back in 1871) here it is:
To pull this amazing day together, Melissa and Trevor, worked tirelessly on details along with their all-star team of vendors including English Rose Wedding Planning, Classic Creations Floral Design, Vintage Origami Wedding Décor, and Sweet on You Cakes. Her beauty team included the talented Jenny McKinney from Kelowna and Cheryl Nazareno & Bev Westley brought up from the Lower Mainland from The Hallway Hair Studio. And to keep the party going all night long, the local legend, DJ Haymaker. We love that we are able to work alongside such talented and creative people!
Melissa & Trevor’s goal was to have a fun, non-stuffy, and memorable day and we think they totally succeeded! We loved how all the little details came together creating a big impact and showcased their love of travel, fun, and joy. There was a lot of love, tears, and laughter going on throughout the day – trademarks of a fantastic wedding. OK, enough with the chit-chat. We’ll let the images tell their story. Thank you Melissa & Trevor for letting us be a part of your extraordinary day – congratulations!!!
Surprise gift from Trevor! A beautiful Pyrrha winged heart talisman necklace made in their hometown of Vancouver. The French seal reads “Tout Pour Vous” which means “All for You.” Awww…
Surprise gift from Melissa! An awesome pair of custom engraved cufflinks with Trevor’s initials and the date of the wedding.
We are officially in love with this car!!!
OK, this was pretty funny. Trevor came out in full snorkel gear for the garter toss while “Under the Sea” from the movie The Little Mermaid played!
Love from your vendors!
