We’re getting into Fall over here in the Okanagan and the seasons are starting to turn. The day of Miya and Kyle’s engagement photoshoot turned from a super sunny day and as soon as we started shooting in the late afternoon it became crazy windy. We love how they brought along such Canadiana props: a canoe, fishing rods, plaid clothes and blankets, and a warm thermos. Usually Okanagan lake is pretty calm, but the wind was causing some pretty big waves; however, the two of them didn’t even bat an eye and headed out (close to the shore we assure you!).
After their adventure we set up an outdoor movie theatre on the shores of the lake. We’ve been wanting to set up an outdoor vintage movie set for a while now and when they mentioned they were sending out Save the Date cards for their wedding next year, we knew this would be perfect. We brought along our 16mm National Film Board of Canada movie reels and old-school projector and set up a show. We didn’t anticipate the wind though and having a white sheet as the screen turned out to act as a sail and was a little hard to keep up. Thank you Miya and Kyle for your awesome style and for braving the elements with us – it was totally worth it! We love these images and can’t wait until your August wedding at Linden Gardens in Kaleden!
OK, we thought it was pretty cute having the countdown in their wedding day numbers: August, 3, MMXIII (roman numerals for 2013).
