We had the pleasure of photographing these two last September for their autumn engagement session complete with canoe, pebble beach, and an outdoor movie which you can view here. Their August wedding held at Linden Gardens in Kaleden was brimming with pretty details at every turn from florals tumbling out of old apple crates to a wall of 1000 gold origami cranes that Miya’s grandmother made by hand to bring good luck to their wedding. How amazing is that!?!
Their beautiful garden ceremony was officiated by a Buddhist priest and we loved how personal it was. As they were walking down the aisle, guests tossed lavender as confetti before heading to a cocktail area to greet the newlyweds for a champagne toast. Scattered around the cocktail area were kid’s toss games and vintage furniture to lounge on. During cocktail hour, we made a quick excursion to the historic Kaleden Hotel which was built in 1912, but became abandoned shortly after. We love this piece of architecture and always admire it’s classic lines and historical past.
After guests dined on gourmet food provided by Catering Done Right (which Miya previously work for) a packed dance floor ensued leading to Miya and Kyle being tossed up and carried by their friends and family. So fun! Miya & Kyle, thank you so much for choosing us as your photographers! Congratulations!!!
Miya gave a uniquely inscribed bracelet to each of her bridesmaids!
Miya cut a heart from her late Grandpa’s denim shirt and sewed it inside her wedding dress. So sweet.
The little white heart on the pillow opens up and once held Miya’s Grandmother’s ring, her mother’s wedding ring, and on her wedding day, her own! 3 generations of women.
Guests had to kiss in order to get Miya & Kyle to kiss, so you can imagine there was creative kissing moves. Kudos to Miya for pulling this one off!
Miya thanking her Grandma for being present at her wedding and making the 1000 cranes. I think the whole room might have been crying at this point!
We snuck out for some night photos…and right after we finished the sparkler photo it started to rain.
