Flying all the way to Hawaii to photograph Sarah and Sean’s Waikiki wedding, how could we not venture away from the hub and explore some other areas? When Sarah suggested Lanikai beach as the destination for their day-after wedding session, we immediately were up for it. We’re convinced this is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in the world – actually we’re not the only ones who thinks so because National Geographic also rated it in their top 10 beaches of the world. Imagine endless white sand, turquoise calm waters, and the famous Mokulua Islands in the background (which we actually kayaked to on a previous day).
We thought it would be awesome to pay homage to Hawaii’s surf culture with some cool vintage surfboards. Previous to the wedding, we stayed in Kailua (located right next to Lanikai) and discovered a great company called Hawaii Beach Time which rents and delivers all sorts of beach gear. Since we had such a great experience renting our kayak from them, we decided to call Ryan up to see if he had any vintage surf boards around. He went out of his way to find us some amazing ones and delivered them to our shoot location – we can not say enough amazing things about this company! Thanks Hawaii Beach Time!!!
Sarah bought a different wedding dress for this photoshoot that was more beach friendly as her wedding day dress was quite extravagant. We had an amazing time photographing these two in the dreamy dusk light in such a relaxing and beautiful environment. What a perfect way to end a phenomenal destination wedding. Thanks for choosing us as your photographers, Sarah and Sean! It was an experience of a lifetime!
