When Kalie and Adam first told me they were having a barn wedding on Kalie’s parents property, I nearly fell over with excitement. Seriously, I had been waiting (not so patiently) to photograph a barn wedding, but the Okanagan doesn’t really have awesome barn venues…until now! When starting to plan for their wedding, Kalie could not find a unique wedding venue to fit her vision. That’s when she took a double-look at her family’s property in beautiful Coldstream in the Okanagan and realized that with a little imagination and a lot of TLC, it could be their dream wedding venue! Silver Sage Stables was born and everyone had such rave reviews of the wedding that the family decided to share this stunning property with other couples and have officially opened it up for the 2015 wedding season!
This wedding was so beautiful and unique to photograph – from the dreamy wheat field used for the ceremony to the rustic open air barn used for the reception, no detail was overlooked. Kalie and Adam’s wedding was a true reflection of their style and it radiated throughout the day. Needless to say, I was so honoured to document and be part of this stunning wedding. Congratulations Kalie & Adam – wishing you both a lifetime of LOVE!!!
The wedding colour palate was a mix of gold, white, peach, and pink. Kalie and Adam created beautiful DIY items such as the fabric bunting flags for the reception, gold glitter table numbers, the huge lace chandelier above the dance floor, and the giant chalkboard photo backdrop (with custom calligraphy by Anchor + Ink). Yuriko from Vintage Origami Wedding Décor worked her magic and beautifully styled the rest providing such stunning details like the large “LOVE” marque sign and upside down lace parasols hung above the dance floor!
Prior to the wedding, they shopped at local antique and thrift stores for mismatch vintage China plates for the reception – so pretty!
The bottom right image features the signing station: an old fashioned clothes rack where guests signed quilt squares. After the wedding, Kalie’s mom made a quilt out of the guests well wishes – how sweet is that?
OK, are you ready for THE most romantic, dreamy, and gorgeous ceremony location? Kalie’s family specifically planted this wheat field to get this stunning golden look for their August wedding. PERFECTION!
Kalie’s Grandpa spent the month before their wedding training a horse to pull this beautiful antique carriage to the ceremony – a surprise for the groom!
