2011 08 15 Jody & Bib - married on July 30, 2011 We've had such a great time getting to know Jody & Bib over the last year and a half (yes, they are super organized and booked me well in advance). After the engagement session a year ago at God's Mountain in Penticton, we hung out with them and drank wine overlooking the Skaha Lake and discovered just how awesome these two are. They are fun, light-hearted, and seem to make just about anyone feel at ease. Being from Calgary, this was a destination wedding that featured what the Okanagan is best known for - wine, lake, orchards, and golf. After getting ready, we planned the first look at an orchard in the beautiful hills of East Kelowna. Amidst apples, peaches, and cherries, Jody & Bib got to share a quiet moment before the busyness of the wedding day. The outdoor ceremony that followed at Cedar Creek Winery was beautiful and meaningful, with Jody's father and son, Ethan, walking her down the aisle. We loved how Jody & Bib included Ethan into so many parts of the wedding throughout the day. In fact, the whole wedding was very kid-friendly, with personalized goody bags for the ceremony and reception, plus an awesome kids table for colouring and drawing. The reception was equally amazing at Gallagher's Golf and Country Club, with speeches that had us crying and Bhangra style dance music that got everyone crazy on the dance floor. This wedding was fun for everyone and we were so honoured to be a part of it. Congratulations Jody & Bib!

2011 08 08 Sarah & Jamie - married on July 23, 2011 Wow! This wedding was super glamorous and had us in awe the entire time. When Sarah & Jamie told us they were getting married at Sparkling Hill Resort, Katherine and I were over the top excited. The newly built Sparkling Hill Resort is located in Vernon and boasts 3.5 million Swarovski crystals throughout the hotel (hence the sparkling). Not to mention panoramic lake views, gourmet cuisine, and a gigantic spa with 9 different steam and sauna rooms. Warning – you may never want to leave this place! The wedding day started out with Jamie and his groomsmen playing golf at Predator Ridge Golf Club, which is located just below Sparkling Hill. The weather was absolutely perfect all day – beautiful blue skies and Okanagan heat. After photographing Sarah & Jaime’s engagement shoot, we definitely knew that these two know how to dress. Yet, we were totally blown away when Sarah emerged with her gorgeous Lazaro gown and Jamie sported his custom-tailored, uber-mod suit. After both parties got ready, Sarah & Jamie met in the Serenity room for their first look. We loved how Sarah was slightly veiled by long strands of ivory material as Jamie came to meet her. It looked completely ethereal and dreamy. The outdoor ceremony that followed was stunning, taking place on a deck that jutted out into the Okanagan landscape, with a view that was completely unobstructed and seemed to go on forever. Afterwards, a fun cocktail hour ensued, complete with a martini ice sculpture (definitely a popular attraction) and followed by an amazing reception that was beautifully decorated. There were so many amazing photos that we captured through their day that what you see below is only a sneak peak. We definitely have to thank Sarah & Jamie for allowing us to pull them away quickly a few times in order to capture the endless dramatic architecture and sparkling crystals that always caught our eye as the light changed throughout the evening. This was such a gorgeous wedding and we were so honoured to be a part of it. Congratulations Sarah & Jamie, we had such a great time getting to know you both over the last year!

2011 07 28 Jennifer & Jeff - married on July 14, 2011 As soon as we arrived, we knew this was going to be a gorgeous wedding. Jenn & Jeff who had come all the way from Regina, Saskatchewan planned a beautiful ceremony and reception at Linden Gardens in Kaleden. The outstanding vintage décor provided by Yuriko from Vintage Origami set the stage for a whimsical, fun, and charming day. Jennifer has the most stunning red hair and blue eyes and looked absolutely beautiful in her vintage inspired wedding dress, while Jeff had an equally awesome suit, complete with contrasting blue pinstripes and an antique pocket watch. Jenn’s son, Landen, was the most comical and adorable child we have ever met and had us (and everyone else) laughing throughout the day. I seriously would not be surprised if he becomes a famous comedian or actor when he grows-up! After the ceremony, we ventured down to the Kaleden Hotel, which was built in 1912, but became abandoned shortly after. We made use of its patina and dramatic architecture, while also capturing some dreamy beach images down at a nearby dock. Back at the reception, the night unfolded with touching speeches, amazing gourmet food from Joy Road Catering, fun music & dancing, and to top it all off - an awesome vintage inspired candy table. Before we left, we whisked the bride and groom away to capture some enchanting night time images in the garden, with even the clouds parting temporarily to reveal a luminous full moon. Thank you, Jennifer, Jeff, and all your family for including us in this beautiful day!

2011 07 28 Shannon & Matt - to be married September 4, 2011 Shannon & Matt were open to any ideas we had for their engagement session; however, they had only one request: beach. So when the forecast was gloomy and very un-beach like, we still pushed forward with the engagement session (we were doing this rain or shine, since they made a special trip out from Calgary). You can imagine how happily surprised we all were when the sun came out for a short visit. What followed were images starring the natural Okanagan landscape - flowing grasses, pine tress, wild roses, pebble beaches, and of course the lake. Knowing that Shannon & Matt love wine, we even brought along a bottle of Summerhill Cabernet Sauvignon for them to enjoy down at the water because wine is equally as much a part of the Okanagan landscape. We love the dreaminess of these images and the connectedness expressed by this beautiful couple. Looking forward to your wedding, Shannon & Matt, in September at Summerhill Winery!

2011 07 27 Selena & Gerard - married on July 10, 2011 My wife, Katherine and I had such a fun time shooting this wedding...most of all because of how unique and relaxed it was. Selena & Gerard who hail from Alberta decided to skip the pomp and circumstance and opted for an intimate ceremony with their immediate family at an amazing lakeside private villa in Carr's Landing, Lake Country. We had such a varied shoot throughout the day, from hockey shots with the guys (paying homage to Gerard's former professional hockey days) to the wedding party jumping off the dock at the end of the day (we had no idea they were planning this, so it was an awesome surprise!). In between, we whisked them away to Oyama to vary it up with gritty buildings, railways, long grasses, and even a train (which happened to roll though town as we arrived, mysteriously just when we were thinking how wonderful it would be if a train appeared...I love it when that happens!). They are such a fun, good-lookin' couple that were up for anything throughout the day, which will keep their wedding fresh in our memory. It was such a great time meeting you and your family, Selena & Gerard! Congratulations!
