Giovanna & Eric - to be married August 27, 2011

When Giovanna and Eric asked me to photograph their wedding, I was super excited and honoured since I had photographed Eric's sister's wedding a few years back (Christine & Ryan). Since then, I've also had the pleasure of photographing Christine & Ryan's new baby, Kennedy, as well a session for Christine and Eric's parents. I'm feeling a bit like part of the family now!

I always try to make the engagement session's romantic, but unique to each client. So when Giovanna & Eric, casually mentioned that they liked the idea of a hayride, I ran with it and started searching out the best location. Soon enough I found McMillan Farms in East Kelowna and arranged a private hayride. The whole evening was picturesque, with rolling green fields, running horses (that clued into the fact we were sitting on hay and came up for a snack), and barn wood backgrounds. Even when we were attacked by mosquitoes as we ventured closer to the river, we managed to get awesome pictures before we fled back to highlands on our hayride. My wife, Katherine, and I quickly fell in love with Giovanna's stylish short locks and Eric's awesome sense of humour. We found ourselves laughing and feeling like we were on a school field trip the whole time (I can't be the only one that loved the farm trips). I'm totally looking forward to photographing this super cute and fun couple's wedding in August.

Joanne & Chris - married July 2, 2011

What a beautiful Kelowna wedding! It was perfect Okanagan weather: sunny, dry, and hot, hot, hot. The ceremony was at Cedar Creek Estate Winery featuring vineyards and panoramic lake views, followed by a reception at the classic Hotel Eldorado which boasts historic waterfront charm and boardwalks, making this wedding an idyllic combination. Joanne and Chris are such a sweet and gorgeous couple. Together, they exude joy and love, allowing everyone to bask in their bliss. They definitely have that look of love and were complete naturals in front of the camera. We had such a great time photographing your wedding, Joanne & Chris, and wish you days upon days of endless happiness and love. Hope you both are having an amazing honeymoon in Barbados!

Karlee & Larry - 1st Year Anniversary Photoshoot

It was our third time photographing this awesome couple and we felt like we were hanging out with old friends the whole shoot. Just over a year ago, we photographed Karlee & Larry's wedding and prior to that we shot their engagement session as well. They are always super comfortable in front of the camera and after one year of marriage, they still have that magic spark!
We have to give a special shout out to East Kelowna Cider for granting us permission to use their amazing property for this photoshoot. We are in love with their Ross Hard Apple Cider now, which you can pick up at McCulloch cold beer & wine store in East Kelowna or directly via their website. They are the only land-based cidery in the Okanagan, so get out there and support the local food movement by drinking their delicious brew!
As you will see in the photos below, we got to make use of some awesome vintage props and we even had a resident chicken come by to join in on the fun! We ended the shoot in the beautiful apple orchards and brought lanterns to continue through till dusk. It was a super romantic evening and we wish Karlee & Larry many more anniversaries filled with love.

Chelsea & Steve - married June 18, 2011

Wow...what a beautiful wedding! Chelsea & Steve didn't leave out a single detail in their elegant and chic wedding atop of God's Mountain Chalet in Penticton overlooking Lake Skaha. It was a photographer's dream, with photo opportunities at every turn. After the gorgeous Chelsea and handsome Steve got ready, they headed off separately to Linden Gardens in Kaleden for their First Look. Amidst the lush gardens and tranquil waterscapes, they shared some quiet moments before the joyous intensity of the wedding day. Hailing from Calgary, the couple had friends and family from far and wide come witness their heart-touching ceremony and bask in the warm Tuscany-like feel of the area. After the ceremony everyone celebrated, drinking Pinot Noir Sparkling Brut from Summerhill Winery and savouring the start of many amazing seasonal delicacies from Joy Road Catering. Sprawling across the treelined terrace, the endless long table wined and dined guests as they took in the stunning views of the lake. Before and after dinner, we whisked Chelsea & Steve away for some amazingly romantic images and then headed over to their swanky night tents for dancing the night away (which happened to include one of the funniest and entertaining metal rock band improvisation's by the groom and his buddies). Hats off to Dolce Amore wedding planners for coordinating and decorating this spectacular day and all the other vendors who made it come together seamlessly. We were so honoured to be part of your wedding day, Chelsea & Steve, and we wish you a lifetime of LOVE!
